Since it is a long weekend and almost the peak season for surfing, most of the hotels, inns and even pension houses are fully booked. I have to really scout the whole internet (yeap that magnitude of searching) to get one. Luckily, there's still a room available at AMCO beach resort. It is not a beach front hotel but have comfortable beds and walking distance from the beach. The room we got is good for 3pax only. But since there were just 4 of us, we opted to add in a mattress. This took up the supposedly space, but if you're not the type who'd stay inside the room the whole time, this shouldn't be something you'd be worrying about.
Long weekend? What a better way to spend it than to go to one of the surfing spots in the Philippines: Baler. For the longest time, learning how to surf is included in my To-Do or To-Experience list and finally this year I was able to check it off the list. The trip was a last minute decision made by my family which proved to be the trickiest part of the tip,

What's Boracay without trying the activities? This applies to all places you're going to. Never miss the chance to try out whatever they're offerring. As of writing Boracay is making name through one of it's activity the cliff diving at Ariel's point and another, the helmet diving. of the two, we were able to experience the helmet diving. Being the only one in the group that is up to jumping cliffs, my suggestion to try out Ariel's point was vetoed regardless of the buffet and unlimited beer that comes with the price of 1400 per head. Along with the helmet diving, we got to experience the flying fish (more on this later) and island hoping in a package. I forgot how much per head it costs but there'll be lot of people along the shore who'd offer you good packages just sharpen your haggling skills and you're good to go. We first did the flying fish as we were 7 in the group, we had 2 fishes (yeap that's what I decided to call them). One would be a group of 4 and 3 on the other fish. I say to fully enjoy this, just go with the 2's hahaha. On our first round was seated at the middle end part which proved to be the trickiest part (for me since my leg and arm power is not that good) thus I was dragged out into the ocean before deciding to let go. The guide wasn;t able to see me flying out of the fish because I am too small luckily my companions were able to notice me missing HAHA. It was an experience worthwhile specially if you are riding with friends and one of you happens to fly out of it just like me. After the adrenaline induced ride we were taken at the spot for helmet diving. A pre-orientation of what and what not to do is given in groups. The whole boat seemed to be divided into 6 parts where each parts handled/owned by separate groups. The key for this activity is not to panic and learn how to pop out the pressure from your ears. The view at the bottom is awesome and I would've ventured far from the site if not only for the oxygen wire that's keeping me in place. See for yourself! Lastly, we did the island hopping tour. I forgot as to how many parts we were able to visit but I surely did enjoy swimming the deep waters and even jumping off from our bangka. The tour that we got supposedly should take us to Crystal Cove and a small cliff diving spot but we opted not to go as we were famished by the noon. |
ME.When I was a kid, I dreamed of travelling around the world. Now that I'm all grown up, I try to live my life on these two questions: where do you want to go? and how much is your budget? Archives
