Since it is a long weekend and almost the peak season for surfing, most of the hotels, inns and even pension houses are fully booked. I have to really scout the whole internet (yeap that magnitude of searching) to get one. Luckily, there's still a room available at AMCO beach resort. It is not a beach front hotel but have comfortable beds and walking distance from the beach. The room we got is good for 3pax only. But since there were just 4 of us, we opted to add in a mattress. This took up the supposedly space, but if you're not the type who'd stay inside the room the whole time, this shouldn't be something you'd be worrying about.
The road leading to Baler is long, zigzag, small and sometimes rocky. If you're not a fan of such, I suggest that you take Bonamin before travelling and make sure to sleep all through out the trip.
My siblings and I decided to sleep upon arrival and woke up around 3pm then went straight to the beach for surfing lessons. This is a good thing because there were few people around that time probably taking a nap. There wouldn't be lots of people who'd ride the waves with you or you have to go away from. Also, at this hour instructors are somewhat bidding their lowest rates as this is not their high time. We went to Patience School (yes they are definitely patient with us) and they offered a low price. you just have to look and ask for them you may text them in advance and look for Jiboy 09309451327. We had another round of surfing the following morning before our tour started. Use your haggling tricks and charms.
As for dining experience, we were able to try out Gerry Shan's. It's a jam packed resto that offers an eat all you can all for 200/head. It's cheap, yummy and near the center o the town. We were also able to experience to eat at the rolling store. Aside from the fact that it was cheap, the taste is so-so. But I think it was because it's a sidewalk eatery. But all in all the experience was good.
We went on tour on our second day but the only thing we enjoyed was the falls. We went to Mother Falls or Ditumabo falls. The trek up and down the falls is all worth it! The water is cold and the flow is somewhat strong. There were deep portions near the falls but is good for swimming. There's also a part where you can sit down and enjoy your heart's content being massaged by the running water. You just have to find your spot.
Another mini falls would require you to hike up and test your endurance HAHAHA but it was fun. The descend is more dangerous as it looks steep from the top.
I would love to visit the falls again and again and maybe stay a little longer than usual.
