New year, new goals, new you, and new places to go.
It was back in February 2012 that I did my first solo trip. And by solo I meant "traveling using my own money, making my own itinerary, and no parental guidance". It was then that I found out my love for traveling. Of how one country can be so diverse and the same, all at the same time. It is where I first roamed a city without knowing a large group of people but still seeing smiles everywhere
"Bohol, is a province of the Philippines, in the country’s Central Visayas region, comprising Bohol Island and 70-plus smaller surrounding islands. It’s known for its coral reefs, scuba diving, diverse wildlife and unusual land formations. On the main island, near the town of Carmen, are the iconic Chocolate Hills, some 1,200 symmetrical mounds that turn cocoa-brown in the dry season."
There are two ways to get to this smiling city. One is via the Cebu Int'l Airport and after, board a ferry to its port. On our way to the province we opted for the Cebu route, but going back to Manila, we took the Tagbilaran Airport. The airport is actually just a small strip that can only accommodate one plane at a time. The city itself is small and all tourist attractions could be visited in one whole day.
There are a number of places Bohol boasts of. The Tarsier, the smallest primate in the world, The Chocolate Hills, Loboc River, Panglao, and one of my favorites, the Danao Adventure Park can all be found here. Mode of transportation throughout the city is via tricyle and rented vans. Back in then we travel in a group of 20 so we got a whole lot of discounts for accommodation, entrance fees and transportation.

As part of the incoming year it is always better to know where we're from and where we are heading. Planning ahead is the key to having a good trip and I have something that might jumpstart your travel plans and make your first trip a success. Recently, I have partnered with GPSMyCity which offers guided walk tours that will save you a lot of time.
For my first 20 readers, I'll be giving away free full access to the app (IOS supported only). All you have to do is comment on the below section where was your first trip was and what memorable moment do you have from that trip. For a list of cities covered, visit www.gpsmycity.com
